Greensusmater — call for papers for Volume 3, now open for submissions
Greensusmater, the peer-reviewed gold open-access journal published by the Green and Sustainable Materials Society, is now accepting manuscripts for its third volume. Authors working on bio-based polymers, recycled composites, sustainable synthesis, and circular-materials engineering are invited to submit original research, reviews, and short communications throughout the volume window.
The journal's scope covers the full lifecycle of green and sustainable materials — from design, synthesis, and characterization, to manufacturing, use-phase performance, and end-of-life recovery. Topics of particular interest for Volume 3 include bio-derived polymers and composites, lignocellulosic and agro-waste valorization, low-carbon cement and construction materials, recycled metal and plastic systems, and life-cycle and techno-economic assessment of materials innovations. While global in scope, Greensusmater continues to place special emphasis on highlighting sustainable materials research from Indonesia and the broader Global South.
Volumes 1 and 2 have established Greensusmater as a dedicated venue for rigorous research at the intersection of materials science and sustainability. Articles are assigned DOIs through Crossref (prefix 10.62755), indexed via OAI-PMH for broad discoverability, and deposited for long-term preservation. The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Dr. Aditya Rianjanu of the Sumatera Institute of Technology, supported by an international editorial board.
All submissions undergo single-blind peer review with a minimum of two qualified reviewers. Accepted articles are published under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, ensuring free access, reuse, and redistribution for readers and authors worldwide. First decisions are typically delivered within four to six weeks, with an average time from submission to publication of twelve weeks.
Article processing charges remain waived for the first three volumes, meaning all manuscripts accepted to Volume 3 are published at no cost to authors. This waiver reflects the society's commitment to removing financial barriers for early-career researchers and for institutions in the Global South. Authors retain copyright and may deposit preprints, accepted manuscripts, or final published versions in institutional repositories without embargo.
Manuscripts should be submitted through the Greensusmater submission portal at greensusmater.com/gsm. Journal scope, author guidelines, and previously published issues are available at the same address.
