About GSMS

A learned society for green and sustainable materials, based in Lampung.

Founded in 2023 by researchers at Institut Teknologi Sumatera and registered as a non-profit association (perkumpulan) on 4 January 2024, GSMS connects Indonesian materials research with the wider world.

History

From a research group at ITERA to a registered society

GSMS grew out of the need to unify sustainable materials research across Indonesia. The Society is headquartered at Gedung Labtek 5, Institut Teknologi Sumatera, Bandar Lampung.

    Founding group forms at Institut Teknologi Sumatera

    Researchers and academics agree to build a society for green and sustainable materials to unify efforts across Indonesia.

    Notarial deed No. 03

    Deed of establishment signed on 11 December 2023 before notary R. Dewi Agung, S.H., M.Kn.

    Registered as a legal association

    SK Kemenkumham No. AHU-0000038.AH.01.07.TAHUN 2024, issued 4 January 2024.

  4. 2024

    Greensusmater begins publishing

    The Society’s first open-access journal (e-ISSN 3047-910X).

  5. Apr 2026

    Two new journals

    Green and Sustainable Environments publishes its inaugural issue; Green and Sustainable Membranes opens for submissions.
