About
GSMS.
The Green and Sustainable Materials Society (GSMS) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research and collaboration in sustainable materials science.
Promoting research and development of sustainable materials, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, advocating supportive policies, and building capacity through education and training programs.
From Lampung to the World.
GSMS was founded in 2023 by a group of researchers and academics driven by the need to unify efforts in sustainable materials research across Indonesia and beyond. Headquartered at Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) in Bandar Lampung, the society was formally registered as a legal entity (perkumpulan) by the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights on January 4, 2024.
"Sustainability is not an attribute of the material alone, but of the entire lifecycle it inhabits."
As a young and growing organization, GSMS is focused on building a strong foundation through peer-reviewed publications, conferences, and collaborative research with universities, research institutions, and industry partners — both nationally and internationally.
