The Green and Sustainable Materials Society (GSMS) was founded to respond to a simple reality: sustainability challenges are advancing faster than the solutions reaching real-world implementation. Breakthroughs in materials, membranes, and environmental engineering are happening everywhere—but the pathway from discovery to impact still needs stronger bridges.

GSMS was built as a platform to connect science with application, support open and responsible knowledge sharing, and grow a collaborative ecosystem where researchers, students, and industry can contribute to practical solutions for water, energy, climate, and environmental health.

Today, GSMS is expanding its impact through a portfolio of open-access journals and community-driven activities designed to amplify high-quality research and accelerate translation into benefits for society.
